Matchan Nutrition Center has teamed with the Academy of the Sacred Heart’s Community Service Program under the direction of Jim Kiefer, by hosting four high school students every Thursday morning during the school year.
The Academy includes community service in its core curriculum, so the students understand it is important to serve the community and assist people in need. This outreach allows the students to build relationships with people they might not otherwise come into contact during the course of their education. During their three-year community service commitment, they learn about the various needs in the local community and become acquainted with the variety of service providers working to alleviate the roadblocks to attaining self-sufficiency for many people.
We are proud to be part of this Sacred Heart program.
